Innovative Gear Designs is a fundamental research and development program that creates new gear geometries based on current standards.

Gears are one of the most used mechanical parts in the industry and gear research is considered one of the most complex fields of engineering. There are more than 64 important parameters that make up the gear geometry. Current standard gear designs lack an optimal interaction of the gear teeth, resulting in high amounts of vibration, stress, friction, heat and noise. 

Green Motion Technologies has optimized standard gear geometry and has created a new standard on its own. The new standard provides the following results compared to the ISO, DIN and AGMA standards:

  • 20% - 25% strength increase
  • 8% - 16% noise reduction
  • 10% - 15% lubrication reduction  
  • 10% - 15%  heat reduction
  • 150% life cycle increase
  • 5% total efficiency increase

GMT has created its own algorithms and software to re-design and optimize gear designs. We are able to analyze gear geometries and their properties with our own tools and together with FEM (Finite Element Method) programmes we optimize the gear geometry. Furthemore, we license our unique gear geometries to OEMs and other industrial suppliers.
